Lawn Maintenance
Lawn maintenance includes weekly regular mowing and edge trimming. Mowing or smaller areas Will take place with a 21-inch mower. Larger areas are maintained with a floating deck mid to large size walk-behind commercial mower. Walk-behind models are beneficial to preserving the landscape by eliminating the additional weight to the mower contact points putting less stress and weight on the turf, also protecting the installed irrigation system from any damage. Mowing has been a specialty of ours with unsurpassed results that has been proven for years. You can only expect to have a quality maintained lawn on your property with S & S Landscaping.
Trimming and Pruning
A pruning program will include the care and trimming of trees up to 16 feet in height, shrubs that require trimming and hedges that are used as screens and ground cover that boarders walkways or cover slopes. The pruning or trimming of larger trees is generally left to the arborist or tree service companies that specialize in that field. The type of shrub and the growth habits of the plant dictates the basic pruning of the shrub. We will trim or prune the plant or tree from a trained professional view to provide the best growing habit fop the item.
Fertilization and Seed
Fertilization is an essential part of creating a healthy turf and landscape. A regularly scheduled program will be specifically designed to control the property fertilization and seeding. It is imperative to apply the proper type and amount or fertilization according to a specifically designed program to ensure the highest quality turf. Additional information about the chemicals used can be provided at request. A fertilization and pre-emergent weed control schedule will be provided upon commencement of services.
Weed Control
Weed control programs include pre-emergent chemical applications and post-emergent applications. A chemical that is applied as a pre-emergent product is intended to eliminate weeds as they begin to germinate. A post-emergent product is intended to eliminate vegetation after it has germinated eliminating its opportunity to grow. Pre-emergent products are applied at specific times of the year and will last for certain time periods. Post-emergent products have an immediate effect on what they touch and have no basic lasting effect. Additional information about the chemicals used can be provided at request.
Irrigation and Maintenance
Irrigation maintenance includes sprinkler repair and adjustment, broken valve repair and replacement, irrigation line repair, and system timer repair and adjustment. Commercial services include repairs to areas caused only by the S & S Landscaping maintenance division and adjustments and maintenance of the irrigation system that may be frequently needed. All other repairs made will require a separate estimate for the repair.
DeThatch and Aeration
A vital part in maintaining a healthy turf is by controlling the level of thatch and compaction build-up. Annual aeration or de-thatching is recommended to control the amount or that build-up. The compaction layer is located just beneath the surface and thatch is located just above the surface. Both in high amounts can be detrimental to the overall appearance of the turf. Aeration is an annual process performed by S & S Landscaping included in the commercial services, which will take place generally in the fall.
Rescape
Rescaping of the landscape is a change to the current landscape. Maybe change plant arrangements, adding walkways, adding removing bark and rock, and etc. Contact an S & S representative for additional information on rescape work.
